Record Achieved For Solar Power

If you have an interest in solar power then you will be pleased to hear that on Friday 26th May 2017, according to the National Grid, 8.7 gigawatts of electricity was generated by solar power. Within the UK, this made up over 24% of the total amount of electricity generated and broke the record achieved earlier this month.

Solar Power is proving to be a significant contributor to the National Grid in terms of electricity.

Only gas produced more energy with this source providing around 30%. Nuclear sources were responsible for about 23%. The level of solar power reached is a considerable achievement and the solar power industry surely deserves a “pat on the back”. This success was no doubt helped by the excellent sunny weather we had at that time.

No doubt the solar power industry would welcome further incentives from the Government and it will be interesting to see if the above achievement has any impact in this respect. There are far fewer solar panel installations being fitted to properties in the UK when compared with two or three years ago so anything that can be done to reverse this would no doubt be welcomed by those operating within the solar power industry such as manufacturers of solar panel systems and those businesses that install them in various parts of the UK.

Something would appear to need to happen sooner rather than later to incentivise more people to have solar panels fitted either to their residential or commercial premises. After all, there are renewable energy and carbon emission targets to be strived for between now and 2020 and no doubt beyond.

As can be seen from the above, solar power is proving a huge benefit in the UK. So, if you would like one or more quotes for having solar panels installed at your business premise or residential property then why not get in touch with us and we will arrange for you to be contacted in this respect.
